Commander Harry F. Statia, USN

Executive Officer

Commander Statia enlisted in the United States Marine Corps April 23, 1984. He was assigned to Marine Helicopter Squadron ONE in Quantico, Virginia as a UH-1N electrician and later transitioned as an EA-6A electrician assigned to Marine Electronic Warfare Squadron FOUR in Whidbey Island, Washington. In September 1989 he transitioned to the United States Navy as an A-6E electrician assigned to Medium Attack Squadron ONE TWO EIGHT in Whidbey Island, Washington where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and was subsequently accepted for a direct commission.

CDR Statia attended Aviation Officer Candidate School and was commissioned an Ensign in December 1993. After flight training as a Naval Flight Officer, he was assigned to Patrol Squadron ELEVEN in Brunswick, Maine until their decommissioning and was reassigned to Patrol Squadron TEN in Brunswick, Maine.

CDR Statia completed his first shore tour at Commander Patrol Wing FIVE in Brunswick, Maine as Assistant Training, Tactics, and Weapon System Trainer Officer. He then reported to USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72 in Everett, Washington as Catapult and Arresting Gear Officer, V-4 Division Officer completing a 10 month deployment in support of Global War on Terror and Iraqi Freedom. At the completion of deployment, CDR Statia reported to Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee as the P-3 community Sea and Shore Detailer until his selection for Aviation Department Head.

CDR Statia reported to Patrol Squadron TWENTY-SIX in Brunswick, Maine and completed a successful tour as Tactics, Safety/NATOPS, and Maintenance Officer before reporting to Commander Patrol Reconnaissance Forces 5th/7th Fleet, Misawa Japan in January 2008. In November 2009 he reported to Atsugi Japan as Officer In Charge of Commander Patrol Reconnaissance Forces 7th Fleet Detachment Atsugi where he was charged with coordinating all maritime patrol operations between the U. S. Navy and Japanese Maritime Self Defense Forces in support of Commander U. S. SEVENTH FLEET. His personal awards include the Presidential Service Badge, Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit awards.
